Well, hero may be exaggerating a bit but I feel like one today!
Granted I didn't wake up early enough today but was woken up sometime during the evening by Mom telling me that she and Dad had gone on a road trip to pick my grandma up from Sungai Petani...and no my brother and I were not told before this alleged phone call :p
So basically! I was told I needed to wake up to cook futoor by myself and of course looking at the time I ran downstairs to get started. I would have seriously stayed in bed and not bothered but alas -_- my brother needed food too I couldn't let him starve...(though I tell you I would somewhat have rather broke my fast with yoghurt and continued sleeping-lazy alter ego talking)
Well...got the chicken out, got the onions, the garlic, the ginger, the potatoes and the spices and got to work.
Let me just say I now know how the people in "Masterchef" feel like, to have to cook under a time limit is a lot of pressure what with the heat! the cooking more than one thing at the same time! forgetting to stir one pot but over stirring the other :p loool it was a marathon.
The results? We were half an hour late for futoor but it was worth it! The food actually turned out perfect and I felt proud of myself.
Then started the adventure...had to make sure the kitchen was spic and span for their return and suddenly I hear my brother screaming from upstairs...there was a spider in his room and a gecko (gross tiny lizard) on the wall going up the stairs....soooooo big sis had to whip out her canons and get rid of the beasts..
Drum roll?
I killed it!! the lizard at least, I don't have the heart to kill spiders so I just took it outside..
I feel weird because anyone who knows me knows I have a phobia when it comes to lizards, so I felt heroic! hah!
well, anyone else had an adventurous day?
a7ibkoum!
love,
Reigh
